Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to correct and rejuvenate hooded eyes or droopy eyelids. It is also used to improve the appearance of the patient’s eyelids. General anesthesia is administered during the procedure. The surgeon will create an incision along the eyelid crease. They will then remove excess skin, muscle, or fat that is contributing to the drooping or bagging of the eyelid. Closing the incision within the natural crease of the eyelid ensures that any scarring from eyelid surgery will be well-hidden within the natural folds.
